Roscoff Layover Day 3

Tomorrow we are definitely sailing. I was getting quite excited about it (little did I know).

Not many photos, so I though I would put a picture of the boat John and Marco spent a couple of days drooling over,

So we had a to-do list from Captain Marco.

  • Drain and replace all of the engine oil and oil filter
  • Go shopping
  • Do the laundry
  • Hoover
  • Wash the decks
  • Remove the rubbish

Time for that later,

I got up and started working in my blog

The main event of the day was changing the oil in the engine. Captain Marco was well prepared. As it is a brand new engine this was important to do. My sole contribution was to get rid of the oil.

Vacuum pump – 5 litres out, where to put it

I went to find the oil dump, prepared my best French and asked a guy and got an immediate reply in English. They love doing that to us – ECO disposal hut for oil, paint rags etc.

Back to the list ( such excitement)

  • Chloe did some washing
  • I emptied the recycling
  • John went shopping …. twice, he seems to like it
  • I hoovered the floor

The big question was wether to eat out tonight or tomorrow night … found a pizzeria for tomorrow night  so eat in tonight,,,, or maybe not

John and Marco bothered the nice French man about reservations at L’aber… as they didn’t trust (or was it John’s French) the woman in the office.

We went to the marina bar to try some local beer …. it was german … but quite nice

No pizza for dinner  – chicken and couscous for dinner, actually pretty good, with white wine.

The Costo 5 litre white wine box had been a bit of a problem ,…. too big for the fridge… now getting decanted into a screw top bottle and chilled in the fridge (great idea John).

John taught chloe backgammon. Off tomorrow!
