Bénodet - layover
So we were moored up in Bénodet for Tuesday. I only woke at 9am , luxury. I think the ensuite helped :-). I had a lot of lovely reaction to my photos on facebook and sone of you had even read the blog, which is much appreciated. I started it as the days were so full of different experiences for me that I didn’t want to forget them.
Back to the mundanity of bing on a lovely river in a quiet Breton town. The weather was slightly strange as it rained a bit, but was lovely for most of the day.As per the last layover the to-do list was compiled :
- shopping
- laundry
- fix squeaky floor in ensuite
- tighten a couple of things up
- empty the rubbish
The laundry was a new experience. Kind of bolted onto the side of a garage, open to the public and the air. You put your clothes in paid your money and off you went for 40+ minutes, hoping that it put n the detergent and that the public of Bénodet didn’t steal your clothes.
The list was completed to great satisfaction apart from .. the squeaky floor. We had all of the wooden up. A workman told Marco you could fix it putting tape around the joists that it rests on. Yeah right….
After completing the to do list we got the ferry over to Bénodet town for a little walk around. The ferry was literally 30 yards from the mooring. We had a very pleasant walk around the town. Culminating with a beer that Chloe kindly bought for us (€6 each eek!).
We got back to the boat and Marco cooked a stir fry. It was supposed to me , but I got a bit nervous cooking asian for Aussies.
We then had a game of Monopoly cards which Marco won and the an earlyish night , ready for the long sail tomorrow.
