So our time in Llangennith was at an end. It was probably just as well as the Welsh schools had broken up and the camping site was getting much busier.
We got up and had a cup of tea and then packed up the van in a leisurely fashion. I even had a shower to celebrate. We remarked that this was the easiest packing away of the camp that we had ever done…. that was always going to come back and bite us!
We set off from the campsite and, as I feared the tiny roads leading to the campsite were full of traffic trying to get in. Being in a van it was a bit of a tight squeeze. Made worse by the fact that you did not know how much of the hedge was bushes or stones! We managed to get through the oncoming traffic eventually and could relax behind a very slow-moving tractor. At least where it went we could follow.
We stopped off in Gowerton to get some of the famous salt marsh lamb and then set off for Cardiff.
We booked in at the campsite and parked up. We unloaded the awning and looked for the strip. It was nowhere to be seen. I resorted to the internet and thought I had found one at Go-outdoors in Cardiff, I ordered it for click and collect and set off to go and pick it up. Sadly I had got it all wrong and they would deliver it to the Cardiff store at some point, so I drove back empty-handed. We pitched the awning and it would mean a fairly tricky manoeuvre to drive the van away the next day.
We settled down in the baking heat to do nothing all afternoon. I managed to watch the rugby Wales vs Argentina and then the Lions on the iPad. We had dinner of the salt marsh lamb, green beans and potatoes and then retired to bed.
