Bishops Castle – Getting there
Mum had booked a house in Bishops for the family to all get together for a week in October. The week before half term.
We had a full house
- Mum
- Suzie, Harry and Katie
- Me, Sue, Ben, Sam and Harriet (for a couple of days)
- Huw , Ruth , Chris and Ollie (Chris’ friend)
The property was pretty special and so is Bishops Castle.
Sue and I set off in the van at about 1pm and got here just before 4. We met the cleaners and Dr Adrian Penny, who told us about the kitchen and hot tub etc,
We then had a good explore of the house and tred to decide which bedrooms would be best for people. Being the first here we selfshly nabbed the big bedroom on the first floor.
Then people started to arrive. First was Granny and Huw. Granny had the ground floor double bedroom adjacent to a nice wet room. We though Huw would have liked the top floor double so he could be near the bedroom where the boys would be, but he thought that should be a boy zone, so he had oneof the doubles on the same floor as us.
Then Ruth and the boys arrived followed by Suzie and her brood.
Sam and Harriet were going to set off early Saturday to join us and Ben was coming after his round.
We had agreed to have a curry that night. I was a little suprised they had a takeaway here! So I took the orders for 10 curries and set off with Huwey to place the order. They only took cash and it, miraculously, came to £130. They did deliver , so we gave them the address and nipped to The Three Tuns for a quick pint.
The curry duly arrived and it was pretty decent. Beers and prosecco were consumed and we cleared away and turned in for the night
