So .. a bit of a rainy blustery day and the youth were off to Go Ape about 1 hours drive south of where we were. It was supposed to be raining and a bit blustery but they seemed to have a really good time.
I made a little video from Huw’s phone shots of it
The rest of us chilled out and had a little walk around the town. Sue very kindly bought me a nightshirt and we had a little chat with the shop owner who, of course, knew the family. She knew Aunty Wendy and talked about her dog Claud, a one-eyed Doberman. This triggered a deeply repressed memory for me as I then twigged that Suzie and I stayed in the house next door when I was about 4 years old. I was left on my own briefly, with the dog which then tried to hump me with a gross looking erection, I had to run away upstairs and lock the door. yuck.
We also made another purchase of some lovely coat hooks for the hall back home. Very exciting.
We had a chilled afternoon
Ben and Harry were cooking so we started with antipasti and then had mushroom goulash from Ben and polenta with chicken and sausages from Harry. We played a few silly games – such as sticking the name of a celeb on your head and asking questions to find out who you were. The other one was having to speak while not showing your teeth. Which makes everyone sound mental.
We finished off with watching Hot Fuzz and most people fell asleep and drifted off to bed, apart from Katie who passed out and didn’t go to her room until 7am.
