We all drove to Faro airport as we needed to park up the van before we set sail in a couple of days. Lukas had recommended a place ten minutes walk from the airport which was half the price of the official airport car park, so that was pretty handy and only €2.50 per night.
Miguel the guy who runs the car park was there to meet us and guide us in and we had a quick chat, parked the van and set off back to the boat.
We then had to return the hire car and as we were in town went off for a coffee and a nata custard tart, the first one we have had since arriving in Portugal.
We went back to the boat for some lunch and after that Sue and I were going to go for a walk but it rained quite a lot so we had to wait. We went down to the beach where it was blowing a gale and so we retired to the town where we had a quick drink and a phone call with Ben. Marco then came to meet us and we went for a beer while Sue went off and had a look around the town and took some photos. Sue then joined us and we set off back for the boat. Sue and I went to the supermarket and on our return to the boat the heavens had opened again and we both got quite wet on the way back.
I was especially pleased with this photo while sitting outside a very nice craft beer bar.
Sue cooked a lovely dinner of chorizo and pea risotto, if there is such a thing, and it was excellent.. We finished off the evenings with a few games of shithead.
Hello, it was a big surprise that you received my comments about Sunday Walk and a burger as I thought I had lost it.
It must be very tedious for you at present. It never entered our heads you would get bad weather.!!
The cafe photo is very atmospheric, little touched like that will remind you of the day, when you look back on your travels.
Ben is already ruing my suggestion to write just a couple of lines each day during his time in Peru. Which he didn’t do.
Weather improving here, we can do some gardening.
We can go outside which is fab.
