After a breakfast of muesli, yoghurt and strawberries, Dave and Marco did a yoga sun salutation and Sue did a bit of body Fx belly dance on the boat.
Today was the day the man was coming to put the sails back on the boat so Marco had to hang around, so Sue and I went for a lovely walk down the coast to the east of Lagos.
It is a beautiful coastline with red sandy rocks, nice sandy beaches and after a while we were a little bit thirsty so we went for a little beer at the beach bar. Time was moving on so we decided to go back to the town for lunch and stopped at a nice little restaurant and had sardines and a mixed salad that we shared between us.

We wandered back to the boat and arrived just as the sail men were leaving with Marco looking very happy that the sails were finally back on the boat and tomorrow we can go and test them.
There was one problem with one of the cleats for the top of the main sail, as it would not lock the rope when in tension. So Marco and I googled what to do and we took it apart and cleaned it and put it back together and it seems to work. When I say we, I mean Marco.
We had a nice catchup with Sam who is doing a grand job looking after the house for us.
We then had quite a bit of discussion as there is some bad weather coming in and we need to get out of the way of it in order to make good progress towards Cadiz next week. So we will probably set sail on Friday and head for the lagoon area south of Faro and then move east on the next couple of days to escape the weather.
To celebrate the fact that the sails were now on and we have a fully working boat, we decided to go out to eat and being very English went for a curry which is tradition now for the start and end of Awayday voyages.
We then went for a stroll around the town, which was very quiet, and ended up a nice bar where we all decided to have a cocktail. Marco and I had an old-fashioned, being old blokes, and Sue had a crazy one with kumbacha and nearly every spirit the bar seemed to possess.
We wandered back to the boat and finish the night with a toast to Berenice, an old neighbour who sadly passed away yesterday morning
I just can’t believe it, I’ve lost my comments to you again .
It is infuriating.
Anyway, your blog was so informative I feel as if I am walking along in your footsteps.
Belly dancing and yoga, crazy cocktails whatever next. Anyone would think you are on an adventure if a lifetime.
Ivan hasn’t read your latest blog just yet. He loves reading them. Who knows he might send you a blog one day.!!!
St Ives bridge night tonight. Love Jx🦋🌻
