There seem to be very few pictures of me, so I though I would start with this one.
After a very good night’s sleep we had a slow start and ambled out to a nearby bar where we had some toast with avocado and a café con leche.
We then went back to the hotel because we needed to do some planning for the next phase of our trip. We went through the detailed blog that we found about where to stay around Rio Tinto. Sue rang a campsite to the north and they had loads of space.
Since the rooftop pool was free we really thought we should make the most of it. We had a really nice swim and then Sue had another soapy bath – you have to make the most of the facilities while you get the chance ha ha!!
We then headed out for a late lunch, even by Spanish standards, and the bars around the market building were really buzzing. One particular bar was incredibly crowded and there was a van trying to get into a street which appeared way to narrow and it was beeping very loudly. There was a model in flamenco garb posing for photos on the steps of a nearby church. So, basically, typical Spanish lunchtime atmosphere!!
We did a couple of circles around the market Square in the hope of getting a table at a tapas bar that we liked the look of. We managed to get an inside table and were waiting a very long time to get served as it was so busy. It was worth the wait though as the Tapas were very good. We had croquetas, stuffed mussels, boquerones, pork cracking (chicharrón de Cádiz) and cured sausage. We were very happy to sit there for a long time, apart from the 10 minutes when Sue was harangued and harassed by by an itinerant seller of socks. She politely declined to buy any, offered him one of her croquetas and was very pleasant. He then hovered for about 10 minutes, gave her the evils, gesticulated at her and told her she had no heart!!
After a fairly long siesta and Dave doing some website work, we spent the evening in the hotel bar planning our route for the rest of the trip. We didn’t even feel hungry enough to get any dinner!
The plan will become apparent over the coming weeks, no spoilers here.
Th3 pool look# very inviting , as does the food. We , all, are currently are trying to lose weight . Beautiful restaurant. Xx
