Panorama View

The winds were still very strong so we were stuck here for another day. In the morning we did a small supermarket shop with Theresa – it’s always nice to explore a foreign supermarket and Theresa knew the ropes, having been here for a while. While we were out Marco hosed the salt and seaweed off the boat.

We then walked up the hill to a viewing point labelled Panorama View, literally in 10ft tall letters. By this time we fitted the category of ‘mad dogs and Englishmen’ as the sun was pretty hot. Luckily it was definitely worth the hike as the view over the island was fantastic. We stopped in a bar, that we paid to get into to, at the top and had a very welcome cold beer. He also put my water bottle in the fridge for me! Top man!

After we had walked back and had a bit of a siesta, we ventured out for ice- cream. A rum and raisin, two figs and a cappuccino ice-cream later, we headed to a nice – looking cocktail bar but realised that it was a rip-off so found a better bar for beers, iced lemon tea and fresh lemonade, then back to the boat for dinner, a baked feta and tomato concoction with a Greek flavour cooked by Sue.

Dave stayed up late to watch the France vs New Zealand rugby match. Marco got an early night after the first half in the vain hope that we may be able to sail the next day.

Glad you enjoyed the panoramic view and the ice-creams.
Foreign Supermarkets are always fun to visit.
Hoping today the wind has subsided.
Very overcast here today.
