After a day of complete inactivity, Sue was on a mission to buy a watermelon. She set off for town closely followed by Marco and Theresa. Theresa had been suffering from earache and so they were off to look for a doctor before we set off tomorrow. I chilled out and watched the 2nd half of the Welsh match. Some pretty poor refereeing I have to say.
After a successful visit to the doctor (an ENT specialist, that would take months in the UK) Theresa and Marco returned as did Sue with her melon. She made a lovely salad with feta, watermelon , cucumber and mint, with a lime dressing. Very healthy and lovely.
Sue and I thought we should go for a swim, but having walked to the swimming beach, here in Zakynthos, which was all large pebbles, blowing a gale and water filled with seaweed we wimped out and sauntered back to the boat.
We at least had a plan. At 3pm we were booked into the restaurant Kantouni Estiatorio, according to Trip Advisor the 2nd best on the whole of the island. We arrived slightly early and were shown to our table and ordered. One of the good things about this restaurant is that they cook fresh every day, and when they run out of a dish they run out. It was still a pretty decent menu. Theresa had stuffed vegetables, Marcello and Sue had the beef stew and I had the roast pork with garlic, rosemary and potatoes … delish. After such a heavy meal on a hot day, I was desperate to have a siesta. We strode back and had a welcome kip.
In preparation for tomorrow’s sail (hopefully) we needed to clean the clear part of the awning. Marco kicked us off the boat and I went shopping with the ladies which also included a crafty beer. When we got back he had done a splendid job and we would actually be able to see where we are going tomorrow. We chilled for a bit and then played cards (shithead – thanks Harry) . Theresa was not a shit head once and won 3 out of 4. Sue and Marco were shitheads twice.
After that, we had a chat about music and bands and then retired. It was pretty hot and I had a shower before bed which is good for cooling down. The weather forecast was looking good.
