We were going down to Cornwall, to help Sue’s Mum and Dad with a bed they had kindly bought for the spare room, which we use when we go and visit. After some really long journeys we decided to set off really early to make sure we were there in time to receive the bed which was due to arrive in the afternoon.
We left at 6am and got all the way to our recharge point in Chideock, Dorset as dawn broke. We got to Lanner with time to spare and the bed was duly delivered and built! The only trouble being that it gave me back ache! So straight back to the shop and they suggested we got a memory foam topper for it…. luckily that worked a treat!!
The next few days we did various walks as detailed below. Apart from Friday where we met Sarah and Andy for lunch in Falmouth.
The next day Sue took Ivan out for lunch and I went off to St Agnes and Wheal Coates. The weather was quite something else. A strong offshore wind and big rollers coming in from the Atlantic made for stunning scenery and sound.
The air was so clear and the sun so bright I got these lovely images of the old mine shafts at Wheal Coates.
I apologise for the extravagance of the large images.😀
The next day we met up with Andy and Sarah in Falmouth (also the worst weather day!) . The following day the weather was back and we decided to go somewhere new! Praa Sands (pronounced Pray… Sue will correct me I’m sure) . We may go there in the van in better weather as you can park your van there overnight!
We returned home the next day, probably the fastest journey home for many years. Even with a 40 minute recharge at Chideock. Sadly though, we were going to have a pub lunch there but the pub is now permanently shut down. We were also 2 minutes late to get a snack at the Spar, so we had to eat the cake Judy had luckily forced on us 😀.
