We headed off on our journey to Hotel Rural Los Caracoles in the mountains near Frigiliana. Ben and Emma had stayed here in January and we really liked the look of it. The distance was short (about 15 miles), but it took quite a long time as there was a long stretch of twisty mountain roads. The views were fantastic though so the journey itself was an experience!
When we arrived we fell in love with the place. The design of the rooms, the décor and the beautifully planted gardens all added to the feeling of calm. We really loved the style of the hotel. They had a beautiful pool, an area at the top where they host weddings (with an amazing viewpoint) and so many beautiful plants.
We had a picnic lunch on the little balcony in our room, followed by a long siesta after all the visits of the last few days. In the evening we ate at the hotel restaurant, Bar Sevillano, and the food was very nice home-cooked fare. We shared croquettes to start, then Dave had wild boar and I had sea bream.
