We booked to go to the Great Estate Festival at the end of May and we went a few days earlier to see Sue’s parents as her Mum had not been well. We tried to go out in the day to give people a rest. It is a bit of a way down to Cornwall, but when the weather is good then it is a great place to be. We have some great walking straight from their house in Lanner, on to the Cornish Mineral Tramways which were built to support the mining industry in the early 19th Century.
The next day the weather was looking fab so we set off early to try to get to a spot in the National Trust field car park at Godrevy. We got the last space in the parking near the gate and waited for it to open at 10am. We had a quick walk around the beach area while we waited. 
The National Trust wardens duly turned up and we got first in the queue and led the convoy to the field and we got a prime spot at the front of the field with a lovely view to St Ives across the bay. We had an Upton’s bacon sandwich cooked in the van for breakfast. We had a walk across the bay to the horsebox on the beach for coffee and cake .. outrageous.
Then back to the van for a chill and then Upton’s rib cap and ox-heart burger…Then more chill, a couple of non-alcholic beers, before heading back to Lanner.
