Since buying the campervan back in 2017(?) we have used it quite a lot, wether to visit Ben on the farm, going down to Cornwall ( great for day trips to the beach, or visiting places around the UK, even Brighton campsite near Sam and Harriet.

Driving to Cardiff

So our time in Llangennith was at an end. It was probably just as well as the Welsh schools had broken up and the camping site was getting much busier. We got up and had a cup of tea and then packed up the van in a leisurely fashion. I even had a shower to celebrate. We remarked that this was the easiest packing away of the camp that we had ever done…. that was always going to come back and bite us! We set off from the campsite and, as I feared the tiny roads leading to the campsite

Llangenith – Day 3

After another great night’s sleep, and in contrast to yesterday, today we had a plan! We set off nice and early on our walk across the cliffs to Rhossili. The start of this walk is a very steep hill to the rear of the campsite and, in 25 degree heat, this was quite a challenge! We were rewarded at the top, however, by a magnificent sweeping view across the bay – to the campsite and beach on our right and Rhossili and Worm’s Head on our left. We took this opportunity to stop and have our ‘breakfast’ of a cheese

Llangenith – Day 2

Today we did …. virtually nothing. I went for a swim in the morning. sue took a photo and luckily for you, I am but a white blob in the distance. We did see a jelly fish washed up on the beach We skipped breakfast so that we could have bacon butties for lunch, cooked on the induction hob. Sue got ice cream in the afternoon, Kelly’s cornish no less Paella for Dinner – left over from Athene and Steve visiting at the weekend. A quick trip to the beach at sunset for some photos More chilling and sleep. This

Travelling to Llangenith

We woke up in a leisurely fashion and availed ourselves of Caroline and Chris’s toaster to have toasted sourdough, marmite and hummus for breakfast. We packed the van away slowly, in no rush to start the 4 and a half hour journey to the Gower. However, by 10:30 we were more or less ready and set off to Wales. I always love crossing over the Severn bridge (is that its name any more?), even more so now that there is no toll. We were getting a bit hungry so we pulled up at the service station and ate our Upton’s

Tom’s Field – Day 2

We got up and had a jalapeno sausage roll for breakfast, before deciding where to go on our walk, or more which route to take. After the downpour the day before, the coastal path might be a bit boggy. We knew we wanted to go to Swanage so we followed the Priest’s way, which was a stony path all the way to the town. Once in the centre of the town, we wandered along the front, almost to the end, to a cafe which has a nice view of the beach. It has several levels and we went up to

Tom’s Field – Day 1

After spending the morning packing the van we set off to Dorset to Tom’s Field, via the butchers (Uptons) for bbq meats and sausage rolls and a pie! We were meeting up with Caroline and Chris for a couple of days socializing at the start of our 10 day trip around a few places. I have recently bought the dark sky app, and the weather was not looking great so we timed our arrival so that we could try to get the awning up in relative dryness. Which we managed to do, with a bit of help from Chris. Rain
